"Hey, Good-Lookin' "

So, besides creating things from paper and trying to find spaces to store and display them, we have been creating things in the kitchen for which we haven't had any problem finding a place to put. A new favorite, much quicker than crepes but nearly as yummy, is German (or Monster) pancakes. This shows how puffy the dish is right after removing it from the oven. In minutes, the pancake nestles down a bit before it is cut, drizzled with syrup, sprinkled with powdered sugar, and devoured:

I was also impressed by my potstickers, so obediently ready for prayer with their arms folded:

The potstickers didn't look so neat after cooking but tasted wonderful dipped in gyoza sauce:

Lucy, true to character, is most enthusiastic about preparing recipes she has found in her own cookbook from Auntie Frau Magister or from recipes she finds in The Friend. These Crescent Rolls (recipe found here or here) turned out gorgeously and tasted like heaven.

As we have been creating in the kitchen, I was particularly impressed by how beautiful our blueberries were in the window light

and by how beautifully fresh cabbage leaves hold water.

And for my final attempt at fitting all of these random food photos into one post, the best meal of all was made and served to us by our kids:

And here are rules for use of the tent (in photo above) posted by Lucy in their restaurant:

  1. What time is dinner? The kids will have to cook for Uncle Ed when they come down next.
