Maren's tibia is broken! Check out this frontal view. Her foot got in between the bars of her bike as she fell, and the break came down at an angle then shot across her growth plate. The doctor (who made a house call this evening and will even stay the night to watch over her) says about a week in her soft cast and then a hard cast for five weeks. Poor thing! It's really hard for her to find comfortable positions, especially for sleeping. She'll turn 12 in a cast!
Not good, but it could be worse. I remember all too well my broken leg.
