"No, Mouse! No, Mouse!"

We used to put little Millie to bed a bit early before having a family movie night, but at the beginning of this summer, we decided to try her out. Every movie she has watched with us, she has cuddled contently in our laps. We have even tried the movie theater a few times and are amazed that she just stays in our arms for every movie. Then, there's the exception.

Dad and Lucy were up in the woods with the moose for a Daddy-Daughter camp out, but this past Friday night the rest of us watched the stop-animation movie, The Mouse and the Motorcycle. We had read the book during the summer. The start of this segment of the movie shows the part where Ralph the mouse is left to look at but not ride the motorcycle under the bed. When the cleaning girl leaves the vacuum attachment under the bed, Ralph jumps on the motorcycle in an attempt to save it and almost gets sucked up himself.

At this point in the movie, Millie slid down out of my arms, pointed at the screen, and shouted, "No, mouse!" with great feeling a handful of times until the scene was over. She then returned to my lap and her thumb-sucking, but ever since she strongly objects when I pull out the vacuum.
